Brian Steves

Home Base: Portland, Oregon

About Brian: I was first introduced to kayak fishing by mere circumstance. I was living on the north shore of Long Island, New York for grad school studying marine science and spent many of my nights casting from shore. I would see blueflish and striped bass just out of my reach. A buddy of mine stored his kayak at my house, so one night I took it out onto the ocean and within minutes I had already hooked a decent sized bluefish. After that, I couldn't stop.

In the future as my kids get older I hope to pass on my love for the sport to them. My son already enjoys kayak fishing on our local lake, but I look forward to the day I can bring my kids out on the ocean with me.
