Cody Rubner

I'm an undergraduate student at the University of Maine in the Marine Biology program. I grew up on Cape Cod shore casting striped bass and bluefish. From there, I moved into central Massachusetts fishing the lakes, rivers and reservoirs for northern pike, bass, trout and carp. At this same time, I began exploring the great state of Maine and it's pristine fisheries. I've been fishing Maine for 8+ years now, mainly tackling the bulky northern pike of the Belgrade region & the gorgeous bass and brook trout further North. I'm an avid ice fisherman as well!

When I began my undergraduate career, my passion for fishing and desire to complete my childhood dream of fishing competitively at the highest level were driving me. I founded the University of Maine's Fishing Club, one of the best groups on campus provided free to undergraduates, and the University Bass Team.

In our first collegiate series qualifier, we placed 3rd out of 57 teams and moved on the College Fishing North Divison Championship.

I'm a member of an incredible work force over at Why Knot Fishing, one of the hottest upcoming fishing companies in the north east, as well as being a part of the Fishidy team - a great social media resource for fishermen of all types.

My goal is to explore every mountain peak, river bend and coastal stretch of our great planet!

Be sure to keep up with all my adventures; they'll be posted right here on the AOTW site.
