I grew up in a small town in east central Alabama which was virtually surrounded by water.  Valley, Alabama lays along the banks of the Chattahoochee River.  West Point Lake and Lake Harding are only ten minutes away north and south.  And, the Tallapoosa River is thirty minutes to the west.  With all of these bodies of water around and a father who loved to fish, its no wonder I grew up with a reel and rod in my hands.

Most of my childhood memories invloved fishing out of a small aluminum boat with my Pop.  He would take me along on his frequent fishing trips to the Tallapoosa during the summers.  We would run trot lines and fish for bass up and down the rural, undeveloped stretch of river the he too grew up on.  I learned alot about how to "run" rivers and how to fish the moving waters.

As I grew into a young adult, I turned my attention to the Chattahoochee River.  I fished it often with family members and out of the various aluminum boats that I've owned over the years.  Each trip, I gained more experience about the ebb and flow of the river and how to effectively fish it.

In 2000, I left the river for a brief while to attend college at Auburn University.  I graduated in 2004 with my Degree in Forestry. Afterwards,  I returned to my home town to take a job as a Park Ranger, which returned me to the waters that had such an impact in my life and up bringing.  I picked right up where I had left off, fishing the river.

This year, 2015, I bought my first fishing kayak.  I immediatley fell in love the concept and challange of fishing out of a kayak.  I almost immediately upgraded to my Old Town Predator MX.  As I got comfortable fishing from a kayak, I learned of kayak tournament fishing. I signed up for my first tournement and won it!  Now i'm hooked, fishing every competition that I get a chance to.

With my Old Town Predator MX, I know that I have a legitimate chance to compete and win any kayak fishing event that I participate in!
